What do you charge
to design my web site?
Some people promise
they can do my web site for $399 - why can't you?
Our charge will vary depending upon several factors. One
factor is the number of pages that are required and the complexity
of navigation between those pages. Another factor is the number
of images required and how much work we need to do with those
images (resize, add copyright, create thumbnails, etc.). The
more the client provides to us and for us, the cheaper our
rates and overall price will be.
Web page professionals charge either by the hour or by the
job. Hourly rates range from $15 to $120, and, our rates are
at the low end of this scale depending upon the type of work
required (page design and layout, image manipulation, animation
creation, etc.). Pricing by the job can be determined after
the site specifications (number of pages and images, division
of responsibilities, etc.) have been identified.
We prefer to charge by the job. This gives the client an
idea of what is involved before they make a commitment. Typically
the client already knows that their requirements have grown
to the point of needing to hire a professional. And, our experience
has shown that this results in jobs that start in the $500
to $1000 range.

We can do this as well. But, we believe that our clients
want a larger, more robust site than what these companies
promise. We also believe in talking with the client to get
a more realistic idea of what they want and the costs involved.
Those companies offering to create sites for $399 are making
extensive use of templates of their design. Typically the
client is limited to 6-10 pages, and, all the pages are all
formatted the same way. This formatting includes physical
layout, colors, font, buttons, links, and, navigation. More
than likely there is a limitation on the number of images
or amount of text that is used, and, the services provided.
And, more than likely these companies will use hard sell tactics
to offer more services at additional costs - AFTER you have
paid them the original $399.
