We don't claim to be able to do "anything". It is best to
tell you some things that we won't or can't do, and, to discuss the types of
materials we use and don't use. See our Leather materials
page for a more detailed description of our materials.
We do not sew or stitch any leather products. And, we use only 8-10 oz.
black latigo cowhide. The sewing machine needed to stitch that type of
leather is an industrial machine costing $500 to $1500. We use lacing that
has a square or rectangular profile, measures about 1/8 inch thick, and, is made
from black suede or black latigo. Suede lacing is less expensive, but, not
as strong as the latigo lacing.
At this time, we do not make clothing from garment leather. We also do
not dye the leather or lacing to a color other than black. We can and will
use different types or colors of leather upon specific approval. In that
case, you must supply the leather and dye for the edge treatment if the color of
the leather is not black.
We have a collection of tools that are used to cut the leather and
apply/assemble the hardware. We can and will use specialty hardware that
you ship to us, but, only if we already have the tools that can be used with
that hardware.
At this time, no. The traditional color and treatment for the type of products we make is black latigo cowhide. Since we want to provide a traditional look and feel, we have decided to make our products with black
latigo cowhide. The company who supplies our hides provide latigo in 4 or 5 colors. If enough people request custom work in one of those colors, we may fill those orders with that color.
People have also asked us if we can dye leather to a custom color. The latigo treatment prevents changing the color of the leather. It is possible for someone other than a tannery to dye leather, but, we do not have
the resources to dye leather via the latigo treatment. Click here to learn more about latigo.
This probably the most frequently asked question. The short answer is
"yes", but, that must be qualified with some additional information.
First, we began the design of our dildo harness in the middle of 2000.
We had several specifications and goals in mind, and, many components of
the design are interrelated. So, changing one thing about the design can
cause a ripple affect. Sometimes these changes can be made,
sometimes not.
Let's discuss the functionality of the
front panel
for a minute so that you can see how this change affects the
design. The two vertical rows of snaps that accept the dildo "O"
ring are spaced 4 inches across from each other. The design is that the
"O" ring snaps onto the front panel in an "X" shape in
a 4 inch square. With our 2 inch and 2½ inch "O" rings, the
straps do not pull directly away from the front panel, but, at a bit of an
angle. Simply using a bigger "O" ring but leaving the snaps on
the front panel 4 inches apart would cause the "O" ring straps to be
pulling directly away from the front panel, making it easier for them to unsnap
by themselves.
So, to allow for a thicker dildo, we would need to use a bigger "O"
ring, but, also make the front panel wider to accommodate the vertical rows of
snaps being set farther apart. But, let's look at the ripple affect of
this change.
The front panel snaps onto the belt, and, it is easy to set these snaps
farther apart to accept the wider panel. But, the problems start to occur
at the bottom of the front panel, where the rear straps are attached.
Making the bottom of the panel wider can cause it to dig into the pelvis,
crotch, and/or thighs.
The rear straps can be attached to the front panel farther apart, which can be uncomfortable as
they travel between the legs. One way to avoid this problem is to attach
the rear straps so that they are still only 4 inches apart and have the snaps
for the "O" ring at their new width of more than 4 inches apart.
But, this leaves the bottom corners of the front panel loose, that is, not
anchored by the pull from the rear straps. So, if the "O" ring
is attached to the bottom snaps, the corners of the front panel could curl
up. This could cause the dildo to not be held snug to the front
panel. We will leave the choice up to you concerning where you want the
rear straps to attach to the front panel.
Lastly, to help us try to fit a larger dildo, we strongly urge you to ship
that dildo to us. Of course, we will ship the dildo back to you with your
new harness.
We will make our best effort to accommodate these changes.
But, because of
the ripple affect that this change has on our design,
we will not make any guarantees that your custom dildo
harness will fit and/or function as well as our standard
design.
We charge an additional $15.00 above the standard catalog price for this
customization. But, this customization will only be approved on a case by
case basis.
That depends upon if you want a variation on an item in our catalog, or, you
want us to make a totally new or different item. For example, if you want
a collar or buckling cuff that is longer than the largest size we offer in the catalog,
you would simply tell us the custom measurement that you need. Or, if you
want a buckle placed in a different position, you would tell us where you want
it.
If you want a totally new or different item, we may ask you to provide
various things for us. If you have one or more pics of the item and/or a
good detailed drawing, we will want you to send them to us. Any textual
description, explanation, and/or measurements of the item will also help.
It is not unusual to exchange several emails as we discuss the functionality,
sizing, fit, and, materials of what you want.
Usually it is done on a case by case basis. As you provide us with pics
and/or information of what you want, we will try to provide a price range as
soon as we can so that you can quickly determine if the item is affordable to
you. As we assemble more information and create a materials and labor
list, we will provide you with a specific quote.
We have accumulated templates and formulas for the items in our
catalog. Sometimes we can use those templates for custom work, which
reduces our labor for your item. Otherwise, new templates are created,
which help verify sizing, line up rivets symmetrically, etc.
Lastly, you must pay the complete cost of your custom item up front before we will actually begin work on your item.
Once specific requirements and the final price for
your custom item have been approved and agreed upon,
you will receive an email from us for final confirmation
of that information. In that email you will be
given instructions of how to add the custom item to
your shopping cart via the custom
work payment page.
You must pay the complete cost of your custom item up front before we will actually begin work on your item.
