This is the first bondage belt that we ever made.
It is about 30 inches long, 2½ inches wide,
has eight 1 inch "D" rings, is lined
with black plush felt, and, uses velcro to keep
the belt from twisting near the buckle.
Many bondage belts similar to this one attach
the "D" rings with individual straps
(about 3 inches long). That design resolves a
problem we had in making this belt. When worn,
the pad and the strap have a different radius.
That means that when laid flat, the holes for
the rivets don't line up in exactly the same position.
So, one "D" ring was attached, then,
the position for the rivet holes for the next
"D" were determined and punched, and,
so on.
The main reason why we decided to make this bondage
belt with a single narrow strap was to handle
the situation of rivets popping and a "D"
ring moving. Rivets are strongest when the pull/pressure
on then is from side to side. Rivets are weakest
when the pull/pressure is directly away from the
leather as in this bondage belt. In other bondage
belts with an individual short strap for each
"D" ring, popped rivets will send the
"D" ring flying. But, with this bondage
belt, if the pull on a "D" ring causes
its rivets to pop, the rest of the rivets in the
1 inch wide strap will hold onto the "D"
ring.
